Media Production Training

The Media Production team offer the following introduction courses:

  • Introduction to Video Editing in Adobe Premiere Pro CC - How to ingest, edit and post produce video from start to finish

Instruction to video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro CC and how to take the footage shot on a Cannon, set up a project and basic editing.

  • Acquisition and Production of Media - How to shoot your own professional video, capture sound and edit the material.

Learn the basic operation on the cameras and microphones that the Media Stores loan to staff and students. Learn the features of the equipment and some basic operational guidance on to use for interviews or pieces to camera. Introductionto Adobe Premiere CC, how to take the footage that has been shot on a Cannon, set up a project and basic editing.

  • Studio Based Media Training

The media training sessions are aimed at staff and students who will be appearing in front of camera in MOOCs and Distance Learning courses, or in other lage projects involving multiple styles of video which Media Services are producing the content for:

The purpose of the training is to allow the participants to discuss with the production team thier visual concepts, preferred style and video ideas, and to hone their skills at delivering content to camera.

We will give a technical tour of our facilities and discuss what services and support we can offer your project, as well as the practicalities of each of the proposed video styles. There will be an opportunity to practise an 'off-camera' interview and a 'piece to camera' using the Autocue system. This is intented to give the participants an experience of different presenting styles and options. Advice and feedback will be given on these activities.
